I am a photographer from Southern Ontario. My passions include Jesus, my husband, my son, family, photography, designing things, exploring, and eating delicious food (receptions are always a highlight for me). Weddings never fail to bring tears to my eyes. The excitement of the couples wedding day brings back many memories of my own wedding day, and I can't wait for them to experience the joys of marriage. I spend my spare time pushing up my glasses and spending time with my favorite people.
My roots in photography
I am a Nikon girl through and through. I definitely did not start there though.
My first camera was my iPhone. I know, pretty lame! But I loved running outside and looking at the way light would fall and cast shadows. From there I found my dad's film camera. I starting taking photos and my high school art classes really pushed me to be more creative! It was definitely trickier then my iPhone but I could play with the settings and create different looks, and find what style best suited me.
I have had 3 camera upgrades and I am currently shooting on my recently purchased Nikon Full-frame camera. D850! I have 4 main lens that I use, which I swap out throughout the day! My favourite lens is defiantly my 55mm lens, it creates a beautiful buttery bokeh background, and then a nice sharp focus on the subject!
After graduating high school I went on to Niagara College for Graphic Design and Digital Photography. I learnt so much out lighting, editing software, and also made some amazing connections with fellow creatives.
The first wedding I shot was in 2017, since then I have shot upwards of 50+ weddings honestly though I have no idea about the exact number. I definitely should have kept a count.
Each wedding is unique, which creates new challenges. Every time I go out to shoot a wedding, my heart races a little. I love the busy environment of people rushing around to get ready, then seeing the eager couple finally able to see each-other in their bridal attire. After the months of waiting the joy is real let me tell you! It gives me pins and needles every time.
